Thanks guys, yes it is headphones, shot on the edge of my settee, 30mm macro, off camera flash at 1/256 power to left, reference the spot, yeah saw that but basically i was messing about yesterday and didn't do my usual job in Lightroom. Shot jpeg as well which i don't do either normally. After 14 weeks recovering from a hip replacement where the surgeon managed to fracture my femur, i am looking forward to doing a bit more. Done nothing really 2yrs as been in pain and on crutches a lot of the time, trying to recover my creative brain now!

Fuzzyedges, i have a silly sense of humour so that made me smile! I thought they should have fitted a grease nipple so it can be oiled and lasts longer than 20yrs. If anyone wants crutches, sticks and anything for recovering from hip replacement i have the full set

Dennyboy I can fully sympathise and emphasise with you because three years ago I managed to break both legs, totally crippling, and extremely painful, four months of being practically bedridden in a special NHS bed fitted downstairs, then months if transferring from a Zimmer Frame to walking sticks.......Your experience will be something very similar........I received tremendous support from members on here, despite me not being able to post any pics.

I for one, look forward to witnessing you, expanding your photographic world as you begin to wander further and further away from your home, camera in hand......can't wait to see your posts.

I sympathise with you, as I suffer daily pain and should have had a knee replacement last year, but due to my husband being very poorly at the time and not too well myself, I had to cancel it and have to see the consultant again to get it sorted.

I hope your new hip will give you many hours of pain free movement once it is healed properly.

I and others are on here on and off all day and will be glad to help you pass the time.

Macro is a good choice for your situaltion, so get people to bring you odds and bods like jewellery etc. to photograph.

I bought a round doorstop and replaced the sand with polystyrene beads so you could make something like that with the help of friends so that you could rest it on your knee or sofa.

Keep the pics coming, and a big Welcome! :smiling:  This is really a great place to be, and the people are lovely.

Thanks Nannyferret i am at the stage where i can walk without sticks, but not very far. good tips on the macro front. I already have no pain in my new hip its just about strength now and i walk every day and do exercises. Off to the cotswolds just for 2 days in a cottage this weekend so there are bound to be opportunities

Thanks all, black ferret it's just a free job called photo editor for the kindle fire hd, but you can do masks, levels, curves, resizing, and all normal stuff. Very versatile to be fair for jpeg editing and sharing. Just load from camera to tablet by wifi and hit the share button after editing. Good for basic non-critical snaps. I like to play in Lightroom normally and don't do photoshop have had LR from day 1

Are BP and Nanny secretly married? (I do love starting rumours...)

Good grief, It would be like marrying my Grandson

Any minute now, John is going to ask me what I am laughing at.

Denny! It's Black Pearl and NannyFerret

We did warn you that we were all loopy, and it was catching,  but don't worry, we are harmless and it will get is all through the winter, especially those of us who don't go far because of the weather then.
