Nice little zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) in the garden today - I haven't seen many this year so was determined to get a photo or two. Got 3, two of which were blurred as she was running away! However - did manage one where she was more or less facing the right direction. I just love those dinner plate eyes.

ok now she makes me shudder !

Aww, Heather, she is tiny. Only about 3mm long. There was a baby one moving about on top the wheelie bin, but way to small for me to get a photo with it moving like it did - i.e. constantly...

oooooooh, I do love a jumping spider, they have to be the prettiest of all...look at those eyes..

Ah yes Annie, the eyes are wonderful on these - a marvellous portrait feature. I wish I could get closer still, but the lens to do that is £800 and way out of my realm and expertise...
