Damsel's Eyes

A second image, very close up...

This damselfly, back in 2010, obliged by staying on a leaf on a breezy day until I got it indoors to get it out of the wind. The upshot of this was that I could take my time and position myself exactly where I wanted to be, and with extension tubes and a touch of cropping, this is the result...

Wow! That is so beautiful.

Thanks Tina  :)

you got a live damselfly indoors and it just sat there...? tips on that one please..

Nothing special as I recall. The damsel was on a large leaf in the garden which I snapped off ans it didn't fly away (I was surprised).

In the house, it did on at least 2 occasions take flight, but I was over by the window and the damsel just landed there and I pushed the leaf against its feet and it stepped back on. The last time, I was able to make the leaf stay in place with a clothes peg holding it on to the clothes drier (one of them folding plastic covered metal ones) which meant I was able to set the camera exactly and take my time.

I released the damsel through the window once I had nailed a few shots.

No, but I can make someone hiss occasionally when I disappear into the garden and leave her in then front room with just the telly for company, lol...  :)
