Loch Lomond memories..... for Blackrox....

Blackrox, you have got me soooo frustrated at the moment! No fault of yours, of course :) My first memories of Loch Lomond must go back to about 1950. My parents and I travelled up from Lancashire and stayed at a small hotel on the banks of the Loch. It was peaceful and lovely. The Hoteliers had a son, called Eric, who was my age, and we played together and paddled in the water together. I also remember that this was the first time I ever tasted freshly caught Salmon - yum! Still love it.

Then, later, we came out to Oz and returned to UK in 1960. We had a caravan and toured all over UK for almost 12 months, and did return to Loch Lomond. I had a Kodak camera then, and I took a photo of the hotel - still there and looking good.

Do you think I can find that photo!!!!! I have a small box of these old photos and I have obviously put them away somewhere so safe I can't find them! I can see the place clearly, in my mind, and it brings back lots of happy memories.

Enjoy your time there - I'm envious :)

We are on the east side of the Loch and you can only go as far as Rowardennan

Don'tknow what flickr is doing but if you click on any image it will take you back to the set on flickr
