I came across this lady while on a 'bush walk' in Western Australia, and although quite wary of my presence, allowed me to approach her until quite close (I was using a 55mm lens.

Such a privilege to meet and get up close to a beautiful creature such as this, in the wild, and not in a zoo as we usually do.

Both images are resized down to 500x333 to get them with the upload limit.

Canon EOS 30D + Sigma 18-55 f/2.8 EX (now sold on)

Hi, Dave, you have probably realised by now that we live amongst these things, and what you say about it being a privilege to see them like this is absolutely true. You were very lucky, and I hope you enjoyed the experience.

Have a look here: http://www.tipf.co.uk/index.php/topic/1956-my-mum-says/  to see what we have to put up with - Oh it's sooo hard!!!

We have Western Greys and Eastern Greys, and your pictures are of a Western. Well done.

Thanks guys.

Indeed 'Kobi' I know Oz fairly well, at least WA that is.

My daughter and family lived in WA for five years (now back in UK), and my wife and I would go out there for 6 or 7 weeks every year, during our winter.

We do miss our Aussie holidays, and swimming in the Indian Ocean on Boxing Day.

There were plenty of 'Roos' on the local golf course, but of course although wild, they were very used to people. This lady however, was out in the 'bush', and I fully expected her to move away, especially as she had a young 'joey' in her pouch.

Don't know that we'll ever get across there again, although I have relatives in WA (since 1927), Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Dave
