It was a nice day so I made a quick decision and went to Stanway House near Broadway in Worcestershire for a few hours. Normally I never take anything in portrait mode, I hate it as it just doesn't lend itself to monitors. This is one of the highest fountains in europe so I've been told, so I did take a few shots in portrait mode. I did also take far more in landscape mode which I have yet to view properly. Apart from not liking portrait I didn't like all the people in the shot either, I therefore set about removing about 30 folks at various distances. I'm not sure if you will like the shot, but there are things I like about it.

Very nice shot John I like it

Only thing I would have done different would be to get down lower, maybe kneeling ? or even a bit lower. Just my personal choice in no way putting your photo down in any way

Ah but we're now living in the accelerometer world of iPads - instead of rotating pictures, you just rotate the screen instead  :yes  And within a year or two, all desktop computers will be hinged so you will just rotate them too.
