A Brave Bronzy

We have had wild and windy weather for the last few days. Yesterday morning, whilst it was a little calmer, our bird table was swamped!! It was foggy, and this was taken through our grubby window, when I noticed that one of our Bronzewing Pidgeons had landed on the table. This is the first one ever! They usually just bumble around on the floor, and are very wary. He must have been hungry, and he is showing his colours beautifully:

Hope to get more, and better :D

It's lovely, Beth!

You are getting the hang of your new camera. Keep them coming.

Aww, bless you Tina, but unfortunately I cannot take the credit for this pic as it's not mine, lol.

Anyway, nice close up which has brought out the colour in his/her feathers!  :yes

Thanks all, even including the 'confusion'!

These are not really our sky rats, they are native to our area, and are lovely to watch, and although they are officially called the Common Bronzewing, (as distinct from the Bush Bronzewing), they are not seen everywhere. They have a fantastic resonant call - image the deepest base voice, quietly going 'Ooohm, ooohm, ooohm' in the distance, prefer to walk and browse on the ground, usually only seen in pairs, and are very wary. This is one of a pair that live on our block and that have 'discovered' our feeding spot.
