Unexpected Find

While moving some plants looking for bugs I came across about 20+ of these little fellows hiding. It was difficult to keep it on my hand and take a shot. My neighbour and I think they are baby toads because of the warty appearance. This is odd as the nearest pool is a good 1/2 mile away.

Hi Terry - 20 is quite a lot, we often find baby toads in our garden, most I've seen as 4/6 and like you the nearest pool is some distance. Often wondered how they get there?

He is very tiny and perfectly formed. I think the lumps make him look like a toad too.
You did well to keep him still enough to get a shot. Well done!

I was amazed how many there were. The bottom of our garden is quite damp but I have never seen the like before. We have had the odd frog in the garden (nothing to do with our friends over the channel) but nothing like this.

We can hear frogs all round us these days, but they are hard to actuallly find!!
