we have acquired this young bird...not sure if it's a young blackbird or thrush. either way we are stunned by how tame it is. it sits on a low branch of the conifer near the back door, makes a very deep throaty noise. complains like hell when I hang out the washing, don't know why. soon as we go and sit in the garden it appears on the feeders beside us..and it does not finch when I get up close with a camera..

My daughter and myself were talking about this last week.
I commented on a bird on the feeder being really tame and she said that she had had some like that too.
You remember me posting a young blackbird feeding on the bird station?
I've never known them this tame, but maybe because of the bad winter that we had they have become more used to us because we have fed them more.

this one is very demanding nanny. it has taking a liking to dried mealworms, but only soaked in water..i have to keep taking mugs of water out to dampen them for him. he was sat in the tree today, brian made the strange throaty noise the bird makes..and it flipping hopped down and sat by us...

You are spoiling them, Annie. lol
They do like fresh worms so I guess the dampened ones are very similar.
I throw out minced meat that the ferrets leave and they seem to like that as well. Maybe for the same reason.
I wonder if the ground is a bit too dry for the worms to come up or the birds to pull them out.

I like your lighting on it,  Mine was quite dark. I suppose I could do a bit more editing on it as I do like the bird.
