DOWNLOAD 8.96.......UPLOAD....0.35

 

Is this good?

 

 

Do the speeds vary according to time of day?

 

does it really matter?  Unless iot is really slow?

Yes Fuji, if you surf the Web or download in the middle of the night it will be faster, the best time to use broadband is between 12am and 8am. if you do it when the "world and his wife" is online it will be slower.  A bit like driving a car in the rush hour to a destination compared to driving there at four in the morning.  See:-

Also surfing at weekends or weekdays at certain times will be different. For things like the Forum it does not make too much difference, but you notice it if you are downloading video's or software.

This looks about average for my speeds, it does creep towards 9mbps very late at night or very early morning when nee one else is about but 7 is normal.

We don't have the option for high speed broadband in Whitburn and checking the net the local exchange isn't even on the upgrade lists so no idea when we will get it - which is annoying because we have two computers, fours tablets, the iPhone, a smart TV, an internet radio and two Blue-ray players all capable of eating data from the router and I would happily pay extra for some serious SPEED!!!!
