Photobucket External Links

Recommended Posts

I notice PB now takes you to an external link if you want to view a picture posted on here, in the large version. I presume this is why Phil has removed several 'external links'. How can we avoid this please, any other PB users know? Just noticed my last post does the same, so is there another way?

As members were finding it frustrating that clicking an image to view large took you to an external site, the decision was made not to allow them. This is several years ago now so maybe it's time for a review. That said, I wouldn't personally be in favour of allowing the links, but I'm happy to go with the majority :)

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Photobucket so not able to offer advice other than, generally, right clicking an image then selecting 'Copy image URL' should allow you post the image in a thread using the 'Insert image' option.

I hate it when an image opens another page to the point where I'll stop looking at the rest of the shots in a post.

You can use PhotoBucket generated IMG links you just need to edit out the url bit at the start with the code accompanying and the /URL] bit at the end before you post.

Delete those sections but keep the bits including [img tag at the start of the gobbledygook for the picture information with everything in-between it and the /IMG] at the end.

This shot was done that way from a IMG generated PhotoBucket link.

What BP said

But an easier way is to use the direct instead of the img codes in photo bucket and click on the tree in the tool bar on here and paste it in there

Phil did you get my links for the old cameras or have I done it wrong AGAIN (I gave you the above method should I have used something else)

Thanks Phil. It seems to be only recently that this has happened, and I didn't like it even though I was posting the pictures the same way as always.

BP, it really annoys me too, and that's why I asked. What you have done here is what I want. I'll have a read through your instructions again, and give it a go, when I get home from work. Too busy this morning, but thanks.

Thanks also, Fuzzy, you were posting at the same time. I'll give it a go later. :D
