i've just got a new mac book pro and just trying to sort my editing software out.  i was hoping to carry on using lightroom as i bought a copy with a one off price, so without a monthly subsciption. but im guessing adobe wont let me do that. i've just down loaded topaz studio and had a quick go with it, doesnt seem to bad to use. but i like how lightroom organsized my images as well as the editing side. plus i never been a fan of apple's photos gallery software. any one want recommend some photo organsizing software.

For me the £10 a month subscription for Lr and Ps is more than worth it. I know there are other apps about but none of them offer the total end-to-end workflow that Adobe do and none of them are updated, supported and have such a large online resource available.

Seconded.
Affinity Photo is quite good as a Photoshop replacement if you want a one-off purchase rather than a monthly fee, but there's nothing to beat Lightroom.
The latest version of Luminar does have a "library" feature but it's a long way behind Lightroom in terms of functionality.

I just couldn't live without my Photoshop CC Single App package facility .. I have been using PHOTOSHOP in its various forms since 1992 !
