Bought some new glass.... Sigma 30mm f1.4

Recommended Posts

Anyways, I have (or had) several lenses, which had just lying around gathering dust.... A couple of kit lenses (EF 75-300mm f4-5.6), a kit EF 18-55 and a Sigma 18-250mm, which I never really used/liked all that much... to be honest nothing that I wouldn't really miss, so took them down to CEX in town and sold them for cash... £192, which I then promptly spent + a bit more, elsewhere for a Sigma 30mm f1.4 DC HSM Art Lens.

I have a Canon 24-105mm f4L lens - probably the best lenses I've ever bought, a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro (couldn't quite afford the L version with it's IS) and the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary - another good lens especially for birding...

So today, that was all I used, all day.... I'll post some images... To be honest, I felt the only thing I had missing was a small aperture prime lens... it is designed specificlly for crop sensors, so around 48mm... almost a niffy 50....

So, to be honest it's actually taking quite a big longer to get used to the Sigma 30mm prime than I thought, and you do have to be a hellva lot closer to your subject than I'm used to with the Canon 24-105mm F4L... This was from 4-5ft away and is still a crop...

To be honest, I did feel like I was encroaching on their personal space being so close.....
