There are now two 127 films available: ReraPan which is a black & white film (used here) and also ReraChrome which is a colour-reversal film -- I have a roll but haven't used it yet. It is also possible to cut 120 down to 127 -- there is at least one commercially available version which is essentially HP5+.

Thanks, I'm still getting used to what works in square format and what doesn't -- there's a lot more difference in composition between square and 4:3 than between 4:3 and 3:2.
