A Strange Romance...

All I know about this is that it's an orchid and it seems to live quite contentedly in our bathroom.

She flowered on Thursday, so today I thought I'd take a few photographs. I introduced Hermione the Orchid to my old beach-combing buddy Wumpa Wood and they got on like a couple of lovestruck teenagers - even though Hermione  is nothing short of aristocratic and Wumpa is as rough as a bear's buttocks.

Isn't life strange?

A great pic of a very familiar bloom Sir Korks.....

We had on given to us well over a year ago now.....they are amazing plants, they flower for ages...... then drop their distinctive flower heads, to lie dormant except for putting out green fingers roots outside the pot.....have no fear, that is the norm...

On expert advice ours never gets watered in the usual way.....just a wet tea-bag every week or do......they don't take kindly to over watering.

Then again...... the Korky Towers luxury bathroom with its mahogany seat and ceramic chain pull should render ample condensation, making the tea-bags redundant?

ours has gone through around four Bloomings...... we are awaiting new blooms very soon.

I meant to reply to this and forgot. Sorry!

Yes, thanks for the info - I've now made a note to give Hermione a wet tea bag every Sunday morning. It will, of course, be Earl Grey.
