The closed gate.

I went back to the spot of a picture taken earlier in the week which I felt could have been better given a better sky. Unfortunately the gate was now  closed and padlocked ........ so a variation on the previous shot.

This is in fact an eight shot pano as I was quite close to the gate and moving back included unwanted elements. It was still and absolute B to get straight.

For me the composition is not as strong as the previous open gate shot. It does not feel as welcoming and I find the area of grass below the gate a little awkward. The building to left of frame looks full of character. The sky is nicer here than the open gate shot as I get to see detail. I have expressed my thoughts on infrared previously. All just my opinions Bill. Most usually disagree with me. ?

Goes to show we all have different tastes as for me this is one hell of a picture. I love the composition, the gate closed, the shed ... well the whole blooming lot!. Loads of interest that holds my eye so much longer than the 'open' version, although I don't think I will ever be 100% a fan of IR this really does make you think ...mmm well perhaps. One of if not the best IR picture I have seen.
