Lovely light , balance and perspective ensuring  the composition is really pleasing ..Liking the Mono treatment too...

Well taken Kev but I find it a little sad that all those pictures lovingly created in colour by artists unknown have been reduce to black and white?

Thanks Colin.

Now you have me thinking which is good. :) I often think in similar ways about mono images. We create a 1940's look for example. But in reality life in the 1940's was full of colour. We have made the 1940's life very drab in the image?

The art was not my style so I guess I had a certain disregard for the paintings. I was interested in the light in the room. It was a simple aesthetic choice. I thought the shot would suit a lack of colour. :)

I can understand that  Kevin ... And it was the right choice for me...  Especially as it wasn't to record the paintings which were almost incidental regarding the subject matter... Sometimes we do things almost intuitively when it comes to decisions like that ... But it' s good to be challenged too as it makes us think about why we make the  choices we make . Aesthetics govern my life when it comes to my photograghs  ... Maybe it's just as well as technically I m a bit  ..:horse:

.
