p.s. Have you tried dropping that over the colour one blended to luminosity? Sometime the colours go to hell, sometimes it works really well to give the impact to the colour version that it needs.

Great tip Bill and yes the colours went awry but blending them in Element 14 then making a composite layer to make colour adjustments to then a few adjustment layers and it turned out a treat.:smiling:

So can we see the original Paul  please ... And the coloured one after you did as Bill suggested then your eventual composite... I imagined blending to luminosity  would have worked.... Must try that sometime... Must admit I have rarely blended to that  so I'll give that a try sometime.. Thanks for that suggestion Bill...

Don't you just love this site .... Where folk are genuinely generous with their help and suggestions to  members  to  help develop their skills...  ?

Yes please, would you do that, Paul. I enjoy seeing how different effects are achieved.............and you've got to agree with the Clicker lady about our site. Not all groups are this generous.

No prob, first started of with the raw image.

Which was then adjusted to this.

This was then taken into Elements 14 wi the mono conversion and blended changing the mono layer to luminosity as suggested by Bill. This changed the colours so I crested a composite layer (Ctrl Shift Alt+E) and made colour adjustments to this composite layer, thentwo adjustment layers to finish it off.

And the finished image ,I hope this helps to see how I work.

I think the first image is a real cracker, Paul. The composition is spot-on, the empty deckchairs work brilliantly to give the image the feel of a typical English Summer!

Nice work as always!

If you were to ever find the time Paul to start a blog in our Member's Blog Spot showing   how you have produced an image , doing a before and after ...and the inbetween bits  using  Photoshop  or Elements  I think you 'll find an an appreciative audience.

I appreciate  you may  feel  your health  issues   may  make this   not what you want to do at the moment   but  should  you  find time  for  an occasional  tip like  this one   of your beach image , I think you'll find an avid audience .... Just a thought ... Phil will organise a  Blog space for you I'm sure   if you require  it ...

Thank you Clicker, these days I have a 27" high res monitor 2460x1440 res and have to sit 12" away from the screen to do my editing,:smiling:

My softwaree is Capture One 8.3 for raw conversion which for my needs I find much better than LR 6 which I took of  my computer a year ago, Elements combined with ON one 10 see to the rest of my need. I rarely need to go outside of Capture One raw converter as it does every thing so well on the rare occasion I do there is Elements and On One.So I'm certainly your man for capture one tutorials but doubt many members use it.:smiling:
