SILENT n SNEAKY

I had a whale of a time today......I took my Wide Angle attachment on the camera to Stratford Upon Avon, a place guaranteed to produce lots of interesting Street Photography.

A move away from my usual, Street Portraits I got in as close as I dare with the Wide Angle, it worked, as you can see:

Silent and Sneaky?....Why?.......Because I had discovered the Silent Mode on my GX7, utter silence as the shutter is pressed...a bit unnerving until you get used to it:

1: The ladies , where laughing and chatting as they waited for the Number 16:

2: These teenagers had just come out of school or college:

3: This was so funny....I had to react very quickly to catch this....a second later all three lasses were in fits of uncontrollable giggles...I had been spotted:

4: This lovely Oriental lass just gave me that lovely smile:

Thank You Korky.....................

Yes! online that processing in the last shot does look a little odd.....I will return to the original to have another twiddle.

I have been attempting to emulate the processing seen in the Wide Angle YouTube video I posted last week:

Not the best video presenter I know, but he is reviewing a clone copy of the Wide Angle/Macro filter I have been using for my last couple of posts.....mine has the...Merkury....label, otherwise it's identical even down to the drawstring storage bags.

You can see from my posts, it is really worth finding if you can't afford, don't have, or want to experiment with a ..Wide Angle Lens.

I'm having lots if fun with mine a  charity shop buy for just £7 complete with its companion a telephoto filter that I haven't tried yet.

You want to be careful with Silent mode. As the GX7 is the cousin of the LX100 it might be worth pointing out that on the latter, 'Silent' mode means electronic rather than mechanical shutter. The LX100 shutter is extremely quiet anyway (a leaf shutter in a fixed lens), but switch to electronic and you could get certain unwanted effects on moving subjects, such as 'rolling shutter'.
