Light Spirals

Recommended Posts

Home alone so I thought I would do a few light spirals, not my best but the torch isn't really the right for this - note to self go buy a better one

2 or 3 photos combined using combineZP and re-sized in Photoshop (shot in raw)

all can be viewed large, just click on photo.

Correct torch or not I have to applaud your enthusiasm, work has caused my mojo to dry up these last few months.

Given the choice I would plump for no. 1 :)

cheers phil no.1 for me too - thinking back the last time I did a few of these was about 6 years ago with a Fuji bridge camera and I spent a lot more time setting up and playing around to get things right so with hindsight the hour I spent last night doing this doing this didn't give too bad a result. Just don't tell the wife I used the lounge room light to hang the torch from :hope:

thank you all for your comments ;-0

I like all three too.

How did you get the colour?

Nanny - Just cover the torch lens with something - Quality Street wrappers are great for this, but we bought ‘Celebrations’ this year and the sweet wrappers just don’t do it so…

no. 2 was a dab with a red felt tip and which has let some of the ‘white’ torch light through, but I like the effect rather than the solid colour of no.3 which is just red coloured paper.

As for the green that was due to the layer stacking software not liking the addition of the 3rd white layer but again I liked the green ‘mis-effect’ it created so didn’t bother correcting it.

I’m assuming you all know how to do these simple spirals? Using a torch hanging from something and shooting up into the light?

If not I’ll do a 'how to' if anyone is interested?
