Todays Butterflies

Actually starting to see more butterflies, though I have to say the ones I have seen are looking a bit tatty..

#1 A rather tatty looking Peacock

#2 Skipper Butterfly - again looking rather tatty

#3 Another tatty looking Gatekeeper

#4, #5, #6 Small White? Or maybe a Green Veined White?

 

#7, #8 A Moth, but no idea what sort of tiny day flying moth it is...

All taken in the space of an hour, less that 1/2 mile from my house. I did also see Tortoiseshells. I also saw a Red Deer aswell.

Thanks BP, there's been a definite lack of butterflies in my local area compared to last year.

Same with us, we have three butterfly bushes in the back garden and they haven't attracted as many as usual.

Thanks Judy, yes I think you're right about it being a Green Veined White. Still no idea what the tiny moth is - it wasn't much bigger than the Red Solider Beetles you can see in the background.
