I've not seen many Gatekeepers so far this summer.

Nice shots John they were way too flighty for me on Monday up here

They all seem flighty this summer... heaven knows why. I spent two hours last Thursday trying to photograph Marbled Whites and I failed.

Here's one I took last summer.

All the whites are up and away before you can get missile lock on them this year

I've been having problems trying to get shots of Ringlets as well... I usually do in fact. It's no good using a flash with them as soon as the flash fires they are off like a rocket beating the shutter.

Three weeks back during a warm day we had ringlets and skippers that were quite cooperative but now they have all but disappeared but thats what seems to be happening at the moment

Two weeks ago long horned beetles (out of reach for me or deep in the brambles) now none same with soldier beetles all over then hardly any Its certainly weird
