Well Dave... funny thing is ... It's not even  my DSLR....this was taken as I am experimenting with my new Panasonic Lumix FZ1000.. a Bridge camera.

http://http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-fz1000

I was toying with the idea of getting a macro lens for my Sony Alpha but I'm not really into real ultra macro as I call it.... though I really appreciate the skills needed to get pics where you can count the  lenses on a fly's compound eye, it's not what I want a camera for ..The video capability is super on this FZ1000   the need NOT to always carry so many lenses is a boost too especially for holidays...At 12 fps  you can get good stills too..I'm still finding my way around it as far as the wifi and the Panasonic app goes but ...hey that's half the fun !!

I got sidetracked with a ribeye and a bbq whilst  completing that last post so missed  all  the subsequent comments after  Dave's .... what kind comments .... hey I'm pleased   you added the bit about  abstract  and nearly abstract Korky .. My friend Judy   can be pedantic ....( Ouch!)

So Thanks Colin , Edward, Ron ( I hear ya )Judy and Korky for the positive  feedback ...  here is the JPG version straight out the camera , compressed to comply with file size ,before I used the RAW  version and  cropped rotated a bit then  processed in CS6. So far I am very happy with the camera ... and Sony Apha is sulking in the corner !!

Thanks NannyF... I  took some really nice ones of a new David Austin rose I'd bought called Desdamona.... And it has been upstaged by the rain drops on the leaves!!!  Doh .... :ermm:

Evenin' Aybee.

Aw ...Steady on;)   Thanks though for your input ... I am really still experimenting with this camera ....seeing what it will do. I suspect it'll be ages before I find it's maximum potential...What camera are you using ... and have you got some more monochromes for us ... I've been neglecting that area lately ....so a slap on the wrist is in order  methinks .. Will try and address that in the coming weeks . Just got back an hour ago from a trip to Brimham rocks today. Set off at 6.am this morning ,... called in to a cemetery in Darlington to take flowers for my departed in laws then spent the rest of the day in the Dales before chugging down thru Lancashire and   the M6... EVENTUALLY.. Roadworks everywhere !
