Elan Valley Sunrise

I have been going through some photos for a project and came across this one from 2013 which I have just re-edited.  I had left the house at about 3:30am and was sat waiting for the sun at about 5:30am in early June.

This is at Elan Valley (mid Wales) and these reservoirs supply Birmingham's water.  No pumps, just gravity and an interesting water system.  The scenery is very good for photographers too :)  Although this particular point is not particularly pretty I earmarked it for the sunrise on that day (using the Photographer's Ephemeris) - just had a look and it seems to be free for desktop again!!  They stopped it last September :( but I'm off to have another look when I've posted the pic :)

Thank you for the comments.  I like that model, Chris - never knew it existed.  For those interested, when I took my photo I was sat in Chris's green bush with that damn to my right.

I can highly recommend this place for a forum meet and they have a red kite centre to visit for feeding time at 3:30pm.  I've been a couple of times and can't wait until we have very cold weather as apparently the icicles hanging from the dams are a sight to behold
