JUST A TRIM PLEASE

Think they spotted in you the second one ;)

I too much prefer these sort of shots as mono, and street photography.

Please ask me to delete my edit if you don't like it.  I felt it was a little over-exposed.  I used Silver-Efex (Full Dynamic) then in the mask traced around the men and clicked on curves and adjusted them to make the background white again.  Must admit my selection could have been improved.

[Edit] And in my excitement I forgot to say I enjoyed these and what a great subject - never thought to photograph this sort of thing!

I love the barber's expression in shot 1 - he looks as if he's made a mistake and is wondering how to explain it to his client.

Very nice work, Fooj - a thumbs-up from moi. Possibly, Edward's edit has the edge, but they're both pleasing to my eye.

Cheers! Both...

The over exposed look was created as an afterthought, I relied on a TOPAZ filter which may have just overcooked  it a little, thanks for pointing it out....very valuable feedback.

This barber's opened less than a year ago, the owner gave me permission to shoot inside, as long as the barber on shift and the client don't object. My first efforts a. Few months back didn't come to anything........then they had two young lasses  as barbers, they were naturally very shy, although welconming, so I tended not to bother them.

Then the other day, I noticed the hat wearing barber working on the single customer, a quick word, my card offered, and I was in......these are my first tentative shots.......

I am hoping to gain this barbers trust, then I might be able to concentrate more, instead of feeling a little nervous.....I have done a shoot in a Tattoo Parlour but that was with a very confident photographer mate.

Watch this Space......as they say;-))
