Possibly over-sharpened but then why I have I spent a good half minute studying the feathers?!! 

Super shot, love the simple background and a catch light in his/her eye - a bonus!  Great shot and great detail!!

Chris that is  down to Flickr over sharpening them (it's a pain) I have replaced it with exactly the same file residing on my pbase account so you should see the difference. I'm done with flickr and will no longer be linking from their.

Know what you mean about Flickr - with me, images always seem darker than the original. I don't know why they have to fart about with uploads the way they do. Most frustrating

Thank you Korky, I know what you mean not only do they sharpen them they seem to increase the contrast on them which changes the tonal range.

It seems that is not the only reason I am seeing differences in images posted here from Flickr.
