Often passed by, dismissed as a weed, the humble Dandelion was once an important addition to the Herbalist's basket....Why?

 

Because, it had so many uses.....supposedly a great Diuretic.....The dried, ground roots make ersatz coffee...new Dandelion Leaves can be added to Salads, kids love to blow the dried Seed Heads to tell the tome.....other kids (in the past) made a noisy Raspberry blowing toy, know as a ...Faaart Poipe...(I kid you not)........And by looking closely at this one you will see it is absolutely loaded with Pollen for our valuable Bee population:
