Yeah ... he does look almost lovable   What I want to know is .... is he just a rat you happened to bump into ....(?).... and what were the circumstances that led you to having a camera handy when you did !  You must  have been very patient if you had to lie in wait for  him .... I'm intrigued ..

Aha ... is he a pet rat ? ;)

Thank you everyone. In response to your question it is a wild rat, I have been out for the last 6 weeks with my local hare population and I saw this little Rat whilst I was waiting for the hares

Love your Hares Paul, but I just can't enthuse about a rat.........why?

Because, during my three years of eye problems, my workshop, woodworking tools and machinery have been locked up......now that my vision is fully restored I opened it up to do a little woodturning.

You've guessed it?.......my beautiful, but untidy little workshop has had a family of rats in residence, making it stink and everything to feel dirty......if you haven't smelt long established rats.....be thankful.

To cut a long story short, I have installed an electronic Rat/ Mouse deterrent that emits a series of noises that rodents can't stand......plus an electronic humane rat trap. So efficient is the first, the second hasn't been triggered yet after three weeks of operation.

Because of the machines, tool boxes and timber cleaning right down to the edges is difficult.....the stink of rat, is slowly being replaced with that of freshly cut and turned woods.

Rats ain't my favourite thing just now.

Your pics of one are technically perfect, but just can't enthuse as I usually do :-(
