I know this is not a great image, never the less I'm happy with it because it's my first effort at merging three images using PaintShop Pro X7 which I purchased recently. After I'd finished taking the eclipse shots I recently posted here and as my camera was still on my tripod I took a few landscape shots. I used exposure compensation to take three RAW shots, setting were -1 0 +1 EV. I then merged and edited the resulting image and converted to it jpg and downsized for posting here. The sky was quite over exposed in the original 0 EV image, until recently I never shot anything RAW and now I'm doing so most of the time.

Nice one John. I started shooting RAW (converted by people here!) but a combination of losing camera functions - especially the further reach of iZoom - and unfamiliarity with RawTherapee and not having the energy to learn it all, has made me revert to JPEG. When I find JPEG is a serious limitation, I maybe will think again.

Bugs... are there any hills where you live?

Since the village I live in has an elevation of 58m above sea level and I think it's the second highest point in the county, there's not a lot of hilly terrain around here :)

There is a hill leading to the church at the back of the Village which I have been using for exercise. About 1km long and 45m rise so enough to get me a bit short of breath but not really a challenge.

Last June I walked up Pen y Fan the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons at 2,907 feet above sea level, where I parked my car was about 1,400 feet above sea level. It took me 1hr 50 mins to reach the peak, since then I've developed mild angina when I exert myself but I'm still hoping to walk up there again this summer. It might take me a bit longer next time but I'm going to give it a go. I've recently purchased a Walkstool, it was a bit expensive but really well made and goes in my small rucksack, I'll be able to have a sit down and take a rest if I need to. In the meantime I will keep myself fit by regular walks on the Malvern Hills as they are so close to where I live.
