With some advice from JohnP I headed off to Duxford's Autumn Airshow (free entry!!) and these are some of the shots I took.

Now, although I like looking at these sorts of planes I'm not a plane-nut so don't know many names.

They don't look too good in jpeg but certainly do in TIFF, much better!

Lee... you did well with these shots, I really like image No4... the two Mustangs, you really nailed these, perfect exposer, sharp and most important propeller blur... :thumbsu:

The Yanks had to come to us for the engine.. a Rolls Royce Merlin... same as the Spitfire.

Many thanks everyone, especially you John. It was a learning curve indeed made a bit harder as I was freezing and was shaking enough to give the vibration control a work out!

I learnt quite a bit and now want the equivelant lens for my Pentax....when I get a job.

Just another 270+ images to work on :(

stunning lee...the us army bi plane is my fav..

those apache helicopters are a menace round here, they come over so low the flipping house shakes........and they have a nasty habit of sneaking up on ya .... mind you i moan everytime there is an air show on at duxford.....flipping noise and traffic jams......lol!
