Roll on retirement....??

So after two sessions with the boss telling him I am retiring in September he has pulled the stops out in an effort to keep me from leaving.

 A month ago I had a pay rise to the equivalent of £120 per week on top of my basic. I am now earning the best money I have ever earned in my nigh on 44 year career. But I'm still going in September I says.

Last week I started getting a meal allowance each day, this week I have been given more scope in planning my weeks work, apparently my input to routing loads has been recognised. I'm still going in September I says.

On top of this I got a bonus payment for fuel efficiency this month as the onboard telematics of the truck reported that my vehicle was being driven with a rating of 97%.....I'm still going in September I says.

I have just got an email from him...''Thought I would send you a pic of your nice new generation Scania S450, it has a microwave, fridge freezer, air con, central heating and will have you name on the door''. It is waiting for the 1st March when it will appear in the yard after prep and company graphics have been applied.....and yes , I will tell him I'm still going in September I says.

Good on ya Denis ...just a bit sad that it’s taken your decision to retire for him to really fully appreciate what an asset he has had in you for so long .  I would suggest you tell him if he can backdate your rise in pay for five years you might just consider it ....lol
