From yesterday....just a casual day out.

Decided to do a 'cruisy drive' out yesterday in the 4WD, and why not when the day looked like this as we set off - just one of our usual roads out of Wedderburn, and, as you can see the traffic congestion is what we are used to!:

We followed a route with links to the gold mining history of the area, Cobb & Co was a coach company, and there is information about them on Wikipedia, and these roads obviously lead to old mining areas:

We were heading for a fire tower at the top of a hill, but the gate was closed and locked, but we did manage to sit and wander in a very nice spot, with very nice views both ways. This one is a bit hazy because there are lots of stubble burns going on in cropping fields:

The other way was clearer:

You can see how dry the farming areas in this valley look:

Cruised homeward again,  stopping off at a couple of bush areas to let K&B stretch their legs - and enjoy heaps of new sniffs, but we didn't let them out when we found this spot in the 'middle of nowhere', very busy and very buzzy!:

A nice relaxing drive, in perfect weather conditions.

Nice series Kobione.  Some spectacular views.  I envy you your traffic congestion.  One of the benefits of retirement for me is that we can stay at home during Bank Holidays etc. and go out during the working week purely because sitting traffic jams just takes the edge off any enjoyment.
