I can only comment on the edit photographically as I know nothing at all about things that fly (and that includes birds, wasps and super heroes!)

Yes, the helicopter and the background look interesting, but all that foreground is doing nothing and at least half of it (possibly more) can be dispensed with. I think if you did that and gave it a 16:9 crop it would improve the image no end by giving more prominence to the main subject.

I absolutely agree with. Korky ...  too much space especially the foreground s doing nothing ... unlike negative space that can add to and emphasise an image. A wide screen crop with a little more space to the right  of the airborne chopper to fly into might also help. I’ve never seen the end of a rainbow like that either ... I hope there was a pot of gold in the vicinity ;)

Thanks, I'll definitely look at the crop later. I was hoping when it took off that it would fly back through the double rainbow that was visible, but no luck there. I'll get my spade out later and start digging!

With hindsight I should have taken the image with less foreground and more rainbow, unfortunately I doubt i will ever get the opportunity again. I got the rainbow at the point I wanted it as it taxied out for take off, but stupidly I placed the aircraft in centre frame.

Here is a crop of the original, I want to keep it at the original aspect, though I appreciate some may like the wide view better.
