    Hello!

    Hi jam, welcome :)
  2. Just thought I'd let you know, the local zoo has emailed me asking if they can use one of my images for their social media page to encourage visitors to share their photos. They want to use one of my Koi pics I done there a while ago they didn't say which one but I reckon it will be this one. Just thought you may be interested :)
  3. Thank you very much, you've been so helpful :)

    FUJI NEWS

Excellent news, keep us posted :)
  7. You'd need a small aperture like f22 with say a 6 to 10 sec exposure or an nd filter if it's really bright, maybe a 4 or 8. You could use welding glass in front of cam instead but it give a green colour cast so you would probably have to convert the image to mono
  8. I shot mine with 24-105 at 24mm, 30 sec exposure, iso 50 f7.1 but f 11 - f 16 if light allows. The reason for the long exposure is because I don't have any light or sound triggers so I had to rely on a long exposure to capture the action. Lightening is very bright so if the overall image is also very bright you may not realise if you have captured anything until you reduce the exposure but you will end up with a lot of bin fodder. Use a tripod (it's a must) and a shutter release if you have one, I left mine at home the other day so I had to use a 2 sec delay instead. Block your view finder with something dark because on long exposures, ambient light can leak in through the view finder and possibly ruin the shot other than that make sure you and your equipment are weather proof and have fun

    POTW w/e 13/7/14

:-o really wasn't expecting this. Thank you, and thank you all for the lovely comments :)
  10. well done, fingers crossed for you
  11. It turns out they have to be PNG files for clothing so I'll have to make PNG copies
  12. I just uploaded at high res 4500 at longest at 300 dpi. I should have read the small print as I just assumed if you upload high res they can manipulate as needed. Thanks for the heads up though as I would really like to try it because I think a few of mine would look ok on a t shirt, I might even treat myself lol
  13. I'd like to try some clothing but it keeps saying I haven't got any valid images so I'll have to contact them and ask how to do it
  14. Thanks everyone, I've only put a few bits up for now I'll have a proper look tomorrow, I might even go to the zoo if the weather holds out and see if I can get any new images

    Eye News

Best wishes mate, you've made me feel very welcome since I joined so my thoughts are with you and here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery
  17. 15k is a lot of money for a set up unless your just buying something like an 800mm lens which by the way is available with a camo wrap if you want to buy in to a system on a professional basis then canon would be worth looking at not because of the colour of the equipment but canon professional services are first class, any problems you have are fixed within 24-48 hours and if not a replacement is issued until the fix is completed. I can't comment on nikon but as a Canon user I'm happy with the equipment and service provided
  18. I have to agree, it's a superb image and a well deserved winner
  19. That would be great, thank you :)
  20. I've changed it to "please note" rather than disclaimer and have now replaced copywritten to copyrighted :)
  21. Thanks for pointing the errors out, by all means if you have the time to proof read it that would be very much appreciated, anything you highlight I will amend ASAP :)
  22. I have received an email from the zoo, they have said they can't because if they allow me to sell then they would have to allow others, I can understand their point but I think it's an excuse, they have however given me the email address for their marketing dept regarding selling my images so I will email them and see what they say
  23. 1/200th will freeze water mate unless it's really moving at a pace
  24. The 560 isn't a hss speedlight mate, it will burst shoot at 1/8th power or less but is still limited to either 1/200th or 1/250th as decided by your cam body otherwise you will get a shadow caused by the camera's second curtain
