That's a high quote for the future treatment. Did the vet discuss Prednisilone steroid treatment to slow the tumour/growth down, if that's what ut turns out to be. We have had many poorly ferrets with lymphoma, tumors etc. That had a better quality and a longer life without invasive surgery. Not all operations end up saving an animals life, and given Ollies age, it wouls probably very traumatic. It's just my thoughts on it as the rescue and myself have had to make decisions like this. I know how hard it is, but I know whatever decision you make, it will be the right one. Hugs for Big Ollie. Thinking of you all.

He will still be beautiful. Some years ago my daughters cat had half her nose eaten away by an unknown disease, and it seemed to have grown back and re-formed itself. Fingers crossed that Big Ollie will get through it ok.

Glad your mum and dad are safe, James. It sounds like they planned well for situations like that, but I know that you can't stop worrying about family at times like that. Now you can enjoy your photography with a clear mind.

I'm not even going to attempt it, Chris. I have set it to the wide setting and that seems to cut it out a bit, but I will have to do a few more test shots to see properly as only done a couple on the present setting. I'm quite enjoying having a new toy to play with though. I have set my Nikon up with extension tubes so I can potter around with it, but as the Sony can take the Raymox, I can see it being a good all round camera.

I've just treated myself to a new bridge camera, as it,s getting increasingly difficult to carry lenses etc. very far. I got the Sony HX400v. I haven't been out with it yet, but have played with it to get used to the controls and settings. No raw, but I can live with that as the quality of the Jpegs looks very good. http://www.madeeveryday.com/2015/04/how-to-sew-a-pair-of-leggings-for-any-age.html/ Good price and I saved a bit by buying a spare battery at the same time. The thing that decided me to buy a new camera was when I noticed a small spot in sky pictures in my TZ60 and didn't really want to pay out fot it to be repaired when I could put the money towards a bridge with a bit more scope. I can clone the spot out if I want to use the smaller camera, and still enjoy the features of the Sony. No proper pics to show yet, but hopefully will be able to test it properly soon.

Thank you everyone. They had to back into intensive care for a day or so, but are doing well now. Providing everything keeps going well, they will be home earlier than expected. Dee, our little great granddaughter, Isabelle, will be two in December, but still hard to think of ourselves as Great Grandparents. The time seems to have gone so fast.
