    POTW 04/11/12

some really great images again this week, but for me there is one image that i kept returning to again and again i love the composition and the light in it. Its a very well thought out and poignant image that provoked a really emotional response for me, and for others that viewed it, so it would seem. for me its probably one of the best pictures ive ever seen to represent Armistice day and everything that the day is about so for all these reasons POTW this week goes to Annies "they will be remembered" congratulations Annie the original thread can be found
  3. hope everything goes smoothly for you all have a great day :)
  4. welcome to both the forum and the digital age Dan :)

  7. kobione what kind of collage are you talking ? i know how to take an image and create a bigger canvas around it and then paste other images onto that ... is that the kind of thing your talking about ?

    top dollar!

as Phil said the picture has a lovely symmetry about it but dont know that i would pay that kind of money for it !! Colin i seriously love your image though, i could look at that for hours... looks like the blue ( sea?) is moving towards you if you watch it for long enough, and i love the luminosity

    POTW 14/10/2012

congratulations Colin and a great choice Richard. as i said on the thread, its rare these days that someone goes the extra mile to help a fellow human being in need and this POTW i think goes a little way to acknowledging the RNLI for what they did :)
  14. Fuji, any chance you could do a little something to explain what you mean when you say about using brushes and layers ? i understand what a layer is but i dont think ive ever used brushes at all for anything
  15. thanks Phil, i really appreciate you doing this, as the only way i knew of doing it was to select the area i wanted to keep in focus and then select inverse before using the gaussian blur tool. This works fine with a very clear line but wouldnt have worked at all well with any complicated shapes Gonna save this to use next time i need it :)
  16. lovely shots, i particularly like the castle one !
  17. how lucky are you to be able to do that and those pictures are amazing ! nice to "see" you too John !
