I know for a fact that I would not be taken seriously with a point and shoot, for many events you need a DSLR to show you are a photographer. I remember someone said to me many many years ago, he could turn up at an event with one of the "new" Hi 8 cameras, small and top quality, but he takes his old large video camera because it "looks" professional

I use different flash gear depending on what/where I shoot, in fact I really only began using flash just over three years ago, Oh I bought a top of the line Sunpak AZ4000 when it first came out and still have it and it works on my Nikkormat, but I was never that confident, then I decided to go for it and go a Metz 45 CL-4 digital and never looked back, I now have 2, along with a Metz 44 AF1 for my Canon and a backup Sunpak PZ42X and a SB910 Nikon. The most versatile are the CL4s, as they work with anything any make of camera with the right SCA, the SB910, the SB910 Nikon offers me strobe effect when needed and a great gun, and the Sunpak is a great little gun My flashguns are as indispensable to me as the camera itself, especially the power and reliability of the hammerheads. Anyone else THIS is "Strobe" not as in the USA where the flash gun is called a strobe, I think this was at 20Hz and shows the movement of the wings

I have rarely used the FREE software that comes with gear, and I believe this to be true for many people, we buy elements, photoshop and more failing to see just how good what free really is. I had a need to download the latest version of NX2 and it is amazing, NEF files that elements could not convert were done in moments edited and saved and I am talking quite a few, now you can also edit a hour of video not just the old 30 mins. So if you have not tried your free software for a while, download the latest and be impressed.

Been a single dad for 18 years since their mother walked out at 35 to have a child with an 18 year old, so being selfish I tend to over compensate with them and they get more than most youngsters but I am no soft touch.

Mr wall and others, a will is 100% needed, and my money when it comes will get my sons into self employment, My son Simon is trying to start a fencing business had his first quote two weeks ago, and Stephen is still in City College Plymouth doing plastering, he has a statement and learning difficulties so self employment is the only way.

I agree with the administrator (quote doesn't work for me don't know why), but in my case where my father wanted NO help, no one, took advice from no one, what can you do.

My father died in November, the 12th actually, unbeknown to us he had taken out equity release almost 15 years ago, thanks, only this week after months and months of constant chasing (you need to know my tenacity) I have finally been told the place will go on the market "next week, with luck". I am lucky, his place is in Surrey so I inherit a fair sum anyway, but please take my advice do not allow older people to be talked into equity release.
