  1. Thank you Geoff, I was thinking about rotating it then straightening the buildings, then I got lazy

I was Just messing around on a hot afternoon, I reprocessed this one awhile back but wasn't very happy with it. for some reason the building on the left looked cut off with a dull saw so I cropped it mostly out. I used several masks in Lightroom to get the different colors of the buildings under control. I will probably make some more adjustments later.
  3. I have to say I like both, the colored because of what Polly mentioned, the B&W for the way it brings out the lines and shapes.
  4. Thank you, Jon. The sun was behind the building so what light there was was reflected early morning light, when I started processing the image I intended for it to be Black and White but liked the blue tint . I have to go back down there It is only a few miles and I have a list of old buildings to photograph.
  5. It had to have been pretty local due the the size, kind of like a street car.
  6. Nice set, I am guessing 1940-1950s vintage?
  7. Great set Geoff, I always like seeing how different your old railway stock differs from ours.
  8. Thank you, Cheryl. I really enjoy playing with lighting like that.
  9. yeah, me too, like designing a jewelry box for my wife.
  10. Early Sunday June 18th morning we had an electrical storm with 100+MPH (160KPH) winds it lasted 45 minutes. It took 6days to get our electricity back on, some people still have no electricity.
  11. We don't have lily beetles but we have a ton of other bugs. Robin sprays with natural pesticides as much as possible we like the fireflies and they aren't as many as there used to be.
  12. Thank you, Polly. I was kind of surprised at how well it turned out, I don't usually do this type of image in color. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, we had a big storm and no electricity for six days. 41C days this week I'll post some storm repair images soon.
  13. Thanks Jeff, No HDR, I dropped the color temperature a little plus I think the early morning light helped some. I just played around with it in Lightroom and Photoshop until I was happy with it. I have been playing around with trying to make lights look right,
  14. Thanks Jeff, You can also go back to Camera RAW from Photoshop for fine tuning even on a JPEG. in Photoshop filters there is a link. I never could get the old way to work but the link works nicely.
  15. Thank you kindly, Cheryl. I do have a bit of post processing into it. The words Methodist and Cathedral do sound odd together. It was built in 1921-1923, It is a really looking Gothic building, I don't have a good image of the whole building. but I will be going back for some and a few other cathedrals down town.
  16. Of the two I prefer the sky replacement even with it's minor flaws, I think we as photographers will always see things nobody else will notice. On the original version, have you tried masking the planes and adding contrast to the sky? We have some of the worst skies for photography here so some times Sky replacement is the only decent option, Most of the time if you play around with it you can get a satisfactory result.
  17. The Problem seems to be Lightroom was giving a phony number for file size. It shows in the TIPF preview with no oversize flag. I open the image in Photoshop and the file size comes out waaaay too big Kinda hard to diagnose with no file size error.
