  1. I've been looking for a meadow that has soley been used to grow wild flowers and have finally found one near Whitchurch, called Melverly Meadows.

The history of the place is on the Welcome sign -  the only thing being it's not very welcoming to the disabled.  If you can't walk you can't visit; it's as simple as that.

However, from what I did manage to see is that there are indeed some large meadows that are teemong with wild flowers.  I just missed the Cowslip season, the evidence was there with all the Cowslips in seed.  A bit later on in the year the predominant colour will be blue

The meadow goes beyond the trees.

The purple flowers are common spotted orchids.

  2. I saw this on Google maps so went for a visit.

Apart from a harrier of some sort flying in front of me while I was assembling the camera, there was very little going on.  However, as I'd taken the camera with me 😏......

  3. I  was there in October of last year, Polly.  I went there for the autumnal colours.

If I remember correctly, I had to curtail the tour and visit the restaurant because of a monumental, biblical downpour.  The food was excellent.

I shall be going again this summer;  I'll give you  a bell so we can get something arranged.
