Not really rip-off Mark, when you consider.
Japan don't have to pay UK business tax, Uk business utilities costs, business rates and the like.

Hello Rhoda, welcome to the forum.
Look forward to your photos. -
Sigma, as a rule, have a problem with diffraction especially when wide open and for that reason I avoid their lenses like the plague.
If it were me, then I would look at the Canon lens for both quality and reliability. I see on Ebay there is the lens you want in mint condition for £529.99 direct from Japan. With postage and packing and including the duty you'll have to pay. (£120.00 approx), you'll be looking at a total price of £660. (circa).
I have bought lenses from Japan before and from paying to delivery it took three days to get to me.
Here.Hope this helps.

Well done Gareth. I said they were cracking photographs.

Some great shots there Gareth. I have been to Richmond Park, but I think I prefer Bushey park to photpgraph deer; it's smaller than Richmond, so there is less time hunting the deer.
Nevertheless, you have some cracking shots there.

So sorry to hear of your travails, Dee. My thoughts are with you.

I have been reminded this week that spotting an unusual Pattern/angle/or symmetry in a photograph goes a long way to capturing the attention of the viewer, with Hatter's, 'Sunset seagull', Martyn's, 'Stacked', and C Munzel's, 'Snowdrops', grabbing my attention.
However, my choice for the POTW is Mikbone's 'Eye Lad', for the sheer detail in this amazing macro. Congratulations Mikbone.

Great choice, Polly - It's nice to read your reasoning behind your choice as well. Congratulations Ryewolf.

Nice shot. I saw a lot of these in Scotland.

I don't know if you have one Homer, but for stacked macos I use a focusing rail, so I can have my focusing 1mm apart and 30-70 shots are quite common..

The stand out image for me this week is Paul's Crab spider, of 'Crab Spider and Snout Mite'.
It's the amazing detail that does it for me. I know we shouldn't use anthropomorphism, but I do like the enigmatic expression.
Congratulations Paul.
