I don't know whether the subject suits monochrome or vice versa, but I prefer this to colour.
A great tonal range from white through to black. A lovely shot.

I agree with Geoff.
An atmospheric scene made even more dramatic with that sky.
To my eye the buildings are diminished by the immensity of the weather about to unfold.
Well spotted and taken.

According to Google Maps it is Knowsley Safari Park.

As I was bypassing Liverpool.

Cracking shots Paul...................as per usual.

And falling in the cut.................

You never cease to amaze me, Paul.
Every time I stick my camera in the face of a spider, it runs away. I reckon you must drug them.

Oh! Wow! How did you manage to get so close to a Hare? Even caught him mid-chomp on some grass.
Excellent shot, John. Well done!

A lovely tranquil scene, Denis; and the colour boost seems to have worked well.

Love that first shot!
Anthropomorphism really does come to the fore doesn't it.

That sounds good to me, Geoff.
Rather than doing the drive up and back and all that photographing I might consider a two night stay at a convenient hotel and doing the venues justice.
While I was travelling to Formby point, I saw billboards advertising a Wildlife Park..........is that worth a visit?

Parking is no problem for me, unless they put a time restriction and close the gates.
I am a member of the NT and I also use the disabled parking, which is free for the NT sites, whether you are a member or not.
Trouble is, I'm a two hour drive away and to get there of an evening I'd have to travel through the rush hour somewhere along the route.

At Formby Point.
I went down the Squirrel trail and took the right fork.

Thank you.
The first was a real grab shot which I was lucky to get away with.
Sadly, I only saw the one squirrel and that one disappeared when 150 schoolkids arrived. So I trundled off home.

I was inspired by Rywolf's trip to Formby Point
This is the first time I've seen a Red Squirrel in the flesh, let alone photograph one.
Scattering food down didn't work as the birds made very short shrift of that idea - So a-stalkin'-I -did-go and this popped out..........

I can see a lot of children being put off by that.

I know it well Denis. I used to live about an hour and a bit away from Chesil Beach and often went fishing there.
Famed for its Mackerel, unless the Trawlers got there first.
That had to be taken from Portland Heights, just off the hotel if I'm not mistaken.

A great set, Matt. So atmospheric - I think #2 is my favourite as well.

A cracking shot. Did you take that from a hide?

I have never seen one in the flesh - hopefully next month.

A nice candid shot, Fuji. Well done that man.

It's amazing what a long lens will pick up.
Thinking outside the box, Denis - I like it.- 1

Brilliant set of images, Geoff.

A great set. The smoke and steam simply adds drama to the images, especially the last.
