This is probably a stupid question, but why is an oil rig so close to the coastline?
-
Beautifully captured, lovely colours

Lovely colourful set, its been so long since Ive been there and of course brings back memories of that TV series, albeit I seem to remember that was in B&W?
-
Theres some great street art around these days, only sad thing are the taggers which add nothing to the art and usually completely spoil it
Nice set, thanks for sharing

Thank you all - I never thought of a jigsaw , I could actually do that by uploading it onto Redbubble

Love the cat!
Paul.
Well ...... I have to admit it. Just as a simple experiment I used the AI process in Photoshop to create that cat. I dont intend to use it in the future as its a step too far when people start creating a whole image from a blank sheet using AI. I will use it for removing people / objects just in the same way as I use brushes in PS .... it just leads me to wonder what way photography is going these days

A great set Jon. With all those fortififcations, I do wonder about the history of the place.
A sort of potted history
"After the fall of Rome, Dubrovnik was ruled by the Byzantine Empire. From the 9th to the 12th century Dubrovnik defended itself against foreign powers, and in the period 1205 to 1358 it acknowledged Venetian suzerainty, though it retained much of its independence"

Now that is an unusual angle - I like it, especially all the different angles of the rooftops.
You can walk around the city walls and that gives you the vantage point. Costs you €35 though!

What an amazing building …. I think the second image is just an awesome capture showing this futuristic vista with it’s epic perspective and proportions. Having a sky like that feels like the biggest bonus too …. Were the pics taken on different days or is it just the time between them showing the transient nature of weather: Two super photos regardless !
We were there for 4 days in all for the BBK music festival. Festival was in the afternoons so our mornings were spent wandering around Bilbao.

This was taken some 10 -12 years ago when I had driven across half of Spain to Bilbao for a festival that was on. Apart from the musical festival being the very best Ive ever been to, the Guggenheim was great to see too
The images arent that good being taken with a low res camera that we had at the time, but hopefully they show you the building which I guess is a work of art in itself

Oddly ...it almost has a Canaletto feel to it on first impression.. Fabulous light Strav ... Have you got any pics from Dali's museum? Did you get to see the Mae West Room?
I have always wanted to got o Figueres but didn't manage to find the time when Barcelona a few years ago ... just a bit too far to travel at that time but it's on my bucket list . He was a a larger than life character wasn't he ... Anyway I digress .... It is a memorable image ...
The one thing you find about Figueres and Cadaques (where his home is) is the light. We visited there with an artist and she commented on it. Yes I have a few of the museum ... but not particularly good ones
