  1. Not so sure on my sports, but pretty sure one of the band members from Yes was born here... And it's not even my home town, I was born in Southport - and most of my family (on my fathers side) all the way back to 1570's came from and lived in that area working on various farms. Wasn't until the 1900's that they moved into the town and became domestic servantes. Mind you at the time Napoleon III lived there - I often wonder if my ancestors ever met him... Gosh revealed quite a bit there........
  2. Alas, Accrington can't seem to shake that milk advert, made in 1989 - it wasn't Accrington Stanley (1891) that was a founder member but a forerunner (I was pointed out when I got it wrong) called Accrington Football Club (The Owd Reds). To make things confusing there's an Accrington Stanley that was formed in 1968. But as I hate sport I know nothing. Anway apart from the football, we;ve also got the biggest collection of Tiffany glass in Europe, plus bricks made here where used as the foundations of Blackpool Tower and the Empire State building, not forgetting the spinning jenny Many thanks for the wlecomes, Jon, PaulT, Martyn, Chris, Clicker
  3. Thanks Richard, glad to be here.

  5. Thanks for all the welcomes, colin, Ron, Phil, Paul, JHFoto and fuzzyedges.
  6. Thanks for the welcome Chris, I'm in Accrington to be exact.
  7. Just thought I'd day hello from East Lancs, always had an interest in photography (have a Canon film camera, but hardly used it - price of film/dev and all) only recently get a DSLR in July last year - Canon EOS100D, EF24-105mm f4 L IS USM, EF100mm f2.8 USM Macro and a 75-300mm kit lens that came with the camera. Not got any specfic area of intrest, just like to photograph anything that catches my interest.. Look forward to seeing you around the forums. Cheers Geoff
