Great shot Denis, but it isn't a Black Headed Gull, they have thin pink beaks and red legs, my guess would be a Juvenile Lesser Black Backed Gull in it's first winter.
Thank you Geoff...I always get these birds mixed up !

Yes, wiki says they are only very distantly related, and part of the Corcoracidae family and not Corvidae......apparently!

Well captured, Dennis. Is that a robin?
It is Cheryl, the little bruiser of the Hedgerow, very territorial and defends his patch with gusto !

No Denis - they fitted a stent via my arm, although I do still suffer with my arm if I stretch out.
I did have three put in following my serious heart attack, one through my back, two through my groin, then three months later I ended up having a triple bypass. Glad you missed out on that!

That's a beauty, Denis. The sky has the look of a bit of impressionist art about it. The cloud shapes draw your eye into the centre of the shot. Lovely work.
Thank you David

That's a very nice sunset Denis.
This last month has been particularly dull. I've only been out with my camera once in December.
Yes Geoff, me too ...well twice, found this while filing away this years photos from the day to day storage drive into the new SSD archive, seemed apt to close the year with a bit of colour I hope you get out more next year, seems most of you from the North of the UK seemed to have been particularly hit with both weather and bloody covid

A great photo Matt,Just intrigues me as to the location, so I had a google search of covered market halls in Devon. It appears to be the Pannier Market in Barnstaple.

Well as the day of our winter solstice draws to a close on this day the 21st of December, the shortest day of the year and the beginning of the ancient tradition of Yule begins. The Celts believed the sun stood still during the winter solstice. They thought by keeping a Yule log burning in the hearth for these 12 days encouraged the sun to move, making the days longer, in reality the days dont actually start to get longer for about eight days. This old tradition of feasting, gathering together and celebrating over the next eight days might seem strangely familiar to a similar festival where a ficticious white bearded bloke supposedly flies around the world on a sleigh pulled by Reindeer who fly delivering presents in just a few minutes, and an excuse for an American beverage producer to bung lights on a lorry and promote their product while people stuff and drink themselves silly...Me? I like to be with my family and friends if possible, I like to share a meal and give and receive the odd gift. And it is a bit hard to push a long log through the front door and burn it for a few days in a non existant fireplace. But, I will remember and cast my eyes skyward to look at the Moon and the Sun if the weather allows it, and let my inner Druid feel some satisfaction of at least remembering what the real Winter festival is about... other than the corrupt commercial and religious farce this time of year has evolved into over the last 2000 years !Happy Yules Til árs ok friðar - Good year and peace : ) and bah humbug !

In a folder on one of my drives, I found another folder of RAW files within..... Bonus!
This resulted in me doing total re-edit A re-edit of a photo I took back in 2019 with my old camera. The airfield in Cambridgeshire was the venue for every available C47/DC3 flying to be together for the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings on D-Day. Some 17 aircraft making the journey from the USA with at least another 17 from other countries as well as some UK based airframes.
