Both are really good photos, but capturing that essence of urban night is perfect to me in image 1

I want to know how you can just 'spot' that when chucking the rubbish out ! I wouldnt find  it with a magnifying glass, and a search warrant!

Very similar to our blue Damselflies, but much more vivid in hue & more distinctive black markings Cheryl.

My sentiments too.

There are so many names of people that were here when I joined. That they no longer post makes me wonder their fate over the years . I often wonder if relatives never know login details or are not themselves savvy enough on the internet to inform members of those forums of their passing.

Very unlikely to be honest I really like seeing others images. It takes me too long to master things with a steep learning curve, and I find my enthusiasm wanes. I will stick to my happy snaps

There seems to be a cult following of this lens here!  I would say you are getting the hang of it very well Cheryl, the photo has a very soft feel to it which I like.

I too like these, the glass one is terrific, and sets off the real live version brilliantly as they sit in your victorian Ink bottle

In Australia, deer are introduced and probably feral. #1 is my favourite.

There are both Crows and Jackdaws ( a grey patch on the head ) in the shot, two Jackdaws are on the Deers back.

According to Wiki, It is native to Turkey and possibly the Italian Peninsula, Balkan Peninsula, and the island of Rhodes in Europe, but has also been introduced int0 other parts of Europe and the rest of the world. But the Normans bought it to England after 1066, the species has since spread to nearly all of the UK.

There were supposed to be two B-1b Lancers, apparently one turned back and only one of the downright ugly (and expensive) F-35's made it into the air as well Paul.

For the Yanks I thought it was a pretty low key affair considering the historic significance and I would have thought a couple of Mustangs and 'Sally B', the only airworthy Flying fortress in Europe, would have made the day a little better !

There are quite a few Fallow Deer herds locally, they seem to live seperately with individual herds frequenting different areas. This particular small herd seem to have established themselves between a local wood and the farm on the common. The sunlight was kind yesterday resulting in some better shots.

Wow..thats tiny for Australia, I was looking for a photo of something at least twelve foot long... nice to see Dee .

I rely on processing, albeit i'm not very good at it apparently, but this really makes me question so many photos now. If anyone can do this,why bother going out on a snowy day !

When I was over  couple of years ago just before the pandemic struck, I was fascinated by these blue birds. The family were getting a good deal of laughs out of me following the around taking endless photos of them

So very colourful and nicely positioned too
