This bridge was built in 1490 and damaged in the Civil War, it was widened in 1826. There was originally a gatehouse at the Southern end which was demolished in 1782. It was the only crossing of the River Wye in Hereford city until the new Greyfriars bridge was opened on January 19th 1967, I was standing on the new bridge to take this shot.
