Morecambe Panorama

I was in Morecambe this morning trying out some long exposure shots with a welding glass. Sadly it was far too windy and I couldn't stop the tripod vibrating and ruining the shots. When I turned around and say this sky I used the tripod to take a series of shots. Processing brought my computer to a complete standstill for an hour or two

12 shots in portrait format stitched together in a trial version of Elements 13

I like this, very much. I wonder what a 'partner shot' would look like: from the middle of the road with the railings symmetrical on each side?

I did try from the middle of the jetty but it was a bit windy and I couldn't stand still, I took these from the railings because they're holding me up. Have you noticed that no one else has been stupid enough to wander out in these conditions today.

LOL. You still got a really good shot though :)

Martyn, this is one of the best Panorama shots I have seen for a long time......probably owing to the great care and skills required from tripod through to processing.

Definitely one for the wall or a competition?

Thanks all for the comments!

Three mentions have been made about the sky. The amazing thing is, it didn't look like that to my eyes on the day. Because this is a panorama made up of 12 or 13 shots it covers a view of slightly more than 180 degrees, the clouds were originally in a straight line like a normal weather front. But because the view is warped by making 180 degrees fit onto a flat plane, it gives the impression that there is a strange cloud formation. I can tell you, no one was more surprised than I to see how that cloud formation worked out in the final shot.    :w00t:
