Finished work quite late this morning and as I was driving home noticed the clouds turning slightly pink and thought this was going to be a nice sunrise, the camera and tripod were in the car so I drove to Saltburn parked up and and walked down tto he beach armed with my camera.

15 minutes later a spectacular sunrise bright fiery clouds, stunning, Turned the camera on all excited! And discovered I'd left the memory card in the laptop! Swearing followed!

Note to self - remember the 6 p's perfect planning prevents pi** poor performance!

Been there, done that.....

Something similar......One day recently I was out with my camera when I heard my mobile phone ring..........but on looking, it had received no call......I walked along a bit puzzled because I had definitely heard it.

I saw a shot, only to find that the loud signal I had heard, was my camera telling me.....No Battery......

My GX7 is very unforgiving, no gently warnings, just a loud signal then no power......I change the battery not long after I see two bars now.

I thought most cameras had an internal memory? Not very much, granted, but enough for a few shots...

Can't think of a single DSLR with internal memory and few if any compacts other than the most basic models.

That's strange - I have only owned Panasonic, a superzoom and an M4/3 (neither of which you would call 'the most basic'), and both have small internal memories. Perhaps Panasonic are the exception rather than the rule? Though really, all cameras SHOULD have it, for just such occasions as Caz encountered!

Caz - did you not have your phone with you?

I did have my phone but I'd just finished a 14 hour night shift and didn't think to use it!
