Its a little too bright now, If you could pull the mid contrast down it would probably help............ :)

I adjusted a little bit in lightroom, but not sure how to do mid contrast in lightroom.

I attached the NEF file in the link maybe you could have a go? And tell me how you did?

Like Colin, I can't resist having a go :yes

 

I've cropped to bring it more into line with the rule of thirds (made to be broken of course), had a play with levels and added some tonal contrast.

As ever, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do like the original too.

That's a very nice image.

 

It's already been mentionioned about the midtones but as you mentioned light room, here all adjustments have been made only in lightroom then exported as a web size image.

 

I also used a grad to darken the foreground as I felt it was to light and needed it to bring attention to the people

Good idea about the grad to use it in the foreground. something to remember to experiment with
