Hi all

I have problem in process my images.

This is an image of BridaVeil Falls in Yosemite, which I posted on Flickr and has been well received.

I felt that I had over sharpened, over saturated the processing and I was unsure about composition.

(Very decisive eh!) I posted this just to try to get some feedback.

Can I ask for a critique of this image please and any other suggestions for improving it would be welcome.

The exif data is as follows -

Camera - EOS 5D Mk3

Lens - Canon 24-105 f/4L

ISO - 100, F/13, 1/20 sec shot with Tripod.

Many thanks

Mike

ps Please advise if I have not posted correctly

I can live with the composition but yes it looks very over processed.

I would pull back the contrast - quite a lot actually - do less fiddling with the sky which looks very unnatural, dial down the green in the trees (unless that is how bright they were) and use far less sharpening with less radius so it doesn't look....gritty...if thats the right word.

Its a good shot that I feel has been spoiled by over working it where I'd guess it looks just fine when left alone.

Posted perfectly :yes

The problem with asking for specific critique is that everyone's perception of what is 'right' will differ.

If you were after a true representation of what you saw on that day then it is over processed. If you wanted an image that pleases you, well, it's up to you.

Personally, I like it as it is. Some detail has been lost in the blacks/shadows, but there is very little clipping of the highlights, so the exposure is pretty good. It looks as though the vibrance has been pumped a little, but again, that's something that suits my taste.

It does look over sharpened though.

Are you a RAW or JPEG shooter?
